While I have always loved winter and have enjoyed winter sports, I confessI don't like shoveling snow. I don't like creating new dance moves on my driveway when slipping on ice. I don't like the snow falling off my shovel half way to where I plan to dump the snow while shoveling. I don't like snow in my shoes.
I do like the way things look all covered in white. I enjoy playing in the snow with my children. And I confess that the things I like could be taken care of in one trip each winter to my parents in Minnesota. At least winter waited until the last day of the year to show up. Hopefully it will leave early and come in late again next season.

It was beautiful wasn't it? But, yes.....a lot of work to shovel...Minnesota winters add some work and exercise...did you guys play with your snow blocks builders at all?
There is still no snow in Dodgeville. We were pleasantly pleased when we drove home tonight to find everything covered with a fresh coating of snow. It makes everything feel so much cleaner. And now it finally feels like winter. I must say, though, that I feel a little bad that I missed the actual falling of the snow. I hope I don't have to wait so long to see it again!
We did get the block makers out. The snow wasn't as sticky as it needed to be and Kallsen just didn't like being out in the snow. Which seemed a bit wierd...giving his interest in watching snow fall and looking out the window at the snow.
Hopefully we'll get a chance to build something with our block makers soon.
Upon reading this post...Sara' mom asked her if this meaning we're moving back to the South. I told Sara it all depends on how much more snow I have to shovel this year...
