Lesson Learned?

Recently, when Joseph doesn't want to get up, I go into his room and tell him what time it is and do my best to get him up and going for the day. Well today when his alarm went off, I heard him get up, turn the alarm off and get back into bed, I decided to let him learn a lesson and I did not go in and wake him up.

Well at 7:35, 40 minutes after the bus was to pick him up, he got out of bed and was panicking that he was going to be late for school. So I got my stuff ready, Joseph ate breakfast and we walked out of the house, closed and locked the door and I then realize I left my keys and cell phone in the house. So now it's 7:55, 20 minutes before school starts, we're outside our house with no cell phone or keys.

Joseph and I walked down to the cabinet shop and borrowed a phone from an employee and called the radio station. David, my newsman, came and got us and brought us to the radio station, I then got in the station van and took Joseph to school.

Looking back I realize that if I had gotten Joseph up and got him on the bus this probable wouldn't have happened. So, is me that needed a lesson this morning or was it Joseph?

That is soooooo funny. I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to cry. That is what you get for not getting him up on time. I hope you enjoy the rest of the day. Maybe if you are lucky I will let you back in the house when I get home.I LOVE YOU. Sara

Good one! Dontcha hate it when you are trying to teach your kids a lesson and you end up being the "learner"? As a parent, this happens more often than I think we feel it should!

And I love Sara Beth's response! :)

This is almost as funny as Santa Crack! ( :

Jt's Girl,
I don't think anything will ever touch Santa Crack or the fact that he had to explain to the little girl why Santa was eating at the Mexican restaurant. Santa Crack was a classic.

It's so nice to have friends and my wife bring up the more embarrassing moments of my life. It you all remember, that was the same day I locked my keys in my car and spent most of the day in the santa suit...

An absolutely wonderful story - thank you. As I dad-to-be, it is reassuring to know that not everything needs to go perfectly - or as planned.

So, what is this "Santa Crack"?

AJ,

But you gotta admit, Santa Crack gave us all a memory that will forever bring a chuckle! What a classic!

Oh, and aj's wife, it was the little girl wondering why he didn't have his beard that was soooo hilarious!
