Happy Birthday Parker!

Parker's 4th birthday was a pretty special day. It started with his Daddy taking him out for a father son breakfast at Parker's choice of restaurant. Can you tell where we went?

After breakfast, Daddy took Parker to school. Parker decided his treat for his classmates on his birthday would be Fruit Roll-ups and cookies. After school, once everyone was home, he opened his presents from Mommy and Daddy. He also opened presents that his 5 year-old brother Kallsen had for him. Kallsen had taken some of his toys and wrapped them for Parker. It was really sweet.

After a nice dinner, the family went to Dairy Queen for birthday blizzard. Once we got home, it was a call to grandma and grandpa in Minnesota. Below are some pictures from today.

Ladybug Fabulous

A girl Kallsen goes to school with had her birthday party Saturday. It was a Ladybug theme party. They held the party at the park near our house. The party started with kids just playing on the playground. Then the fun began!

The girl's parents painted rocks red with black spots and had them hidden through out the area surrounding the playground and they did a Ladybug hunt (similar to an Easter egg hunt) then did Ladybug theme cupcakes and ice cream. After doing the cupcakes and ice cream they played a Pin the Ladybug on the Leaf game. After the game playing, all the kids watched Clara open her gifts.

Each child that came to the party got a gift bag that included a bug display case (for the bug catching), a scoop to dig in the dirt while looking for bugs and some pieces of candy. Here are a few pictures taken during the party.

I commend Clara's parents for coming up with such a creative and fun birthday party. This morning, as I edited pictures and wrote this post, Kallsen and Parker were 'hunting bugs' through out the house.
As a parent, you're always looking for fun and creative ideas. This is one that I really liked.

And Then He Was Three...

Today Kallsen turned three. An exciting day indeed!

In this first picture, Kallsen asks for help in blowing out the candles on his cupcakes. The cupcakes he picked out all by himself.
In this next picture, Kallsen decides that Parker should enjoy his new sleeping bag too.
