I believe you're never to old to learn and I am aware of when I learn something new. Something that I didn't know before or I didn't realize before. And it amazes me the amount of things I learn from my three boys.
Over the holidays, while the boys were home from school, here are some of the things I learned...
-A stuffed monkey from the Dollar General beats anything else a child could receive for Christmas. At least when you're two years old.
-20 degrees in Seneca, SC is much colder to a 3 year-old than zero degrees is in Iowa.
-Diego is much cooler than Dora.
-Flashlights are the coolest gadget in the world.
-Getting your children to brush their teeth doesn't get any easier.
-Children need a structured environment.
-A Broken bone doesn't slow a three year-old down.
-Kids would rather play games with their parents than watch TV when given the choice.
-As cool as you are to a two and three year-old is the same amount of uncoolness you are to an 11 year-old.
Those are just some of the things I learned over the holidays. Some of those things I knew once before but had forgotten. And one thing that I've always known is I would never give up these boys for anything in the world.

You're such a nice daddy! I love the one about the coolness factor. It is so true! Although my 10 year old still runs up and gives me a hug when she sees me at school. That's pretty cool!
that's the fun part about being a parent......you are never too old to learn.....I am still learning...that was fun ad...thanks for sharing those nice thoughts...I liked it!
Pretty nice, Ad. When my Davey got a dollar store monkey from Paula, he played with it until it fell apart. So glad they like Diego. My boys do, too!! And yes, my boys would always rather play with us than watch TV. Sometimes I'd just like to sit and watch TV!!! Wouldn't trade them for the world, though!
Adam, you nailed it with the coolness comment! Did you know that the '80's were all in black and white?? (Sam actually told me this earlier this week!) Just imagine, though, if Joseph were a girl! ("Mom, why can't I wear blue eye makeup? Can I dye my hair red? Can I have four inch stilettos like so and so?") By the way, NO on all accounts....
