Thompson ended up finishing 3rd in South Carolina. And with that finish I do believe the hopes of Thompson supporters have been dashed. Talk in SC is his campaign did some damage to others in the race.
A lot of conservative radio talk show host have called Thompson the only true conservative and the only candidate will bring us back to the Reagan glory days. Maybe the powers that be will learn that the country doesn't want to go back to the Reagan days but instead want to move forward, not backward.
