Here are some pictures of the blizzard of 2007. The entire state of Iowa was declared a disaster area by the Iowa Governor. From the start of the Blizzard until 5:00 last night,
Estherville had 16 and a half inches of snow. And we got more last night. In this first picture, you can see the amount of snow is all ready pretty heavy...and you may also noticed that you can't see the road. This picture was taken Thursday evening.

This next picture was taken later of Thursday. As you can see, the drift on the left side of the photo is between our garage and the side entrance to our front deck. The drift is
easily four to five feet high.

This next picture was taken Friday morning from the street in front of our house. Notice that if we wanted to get out through the front door that was not going to happen. The main drift on the deck in front of the big window is at least six feet tall. Also you may notice that the
icicles in front of the front door reach all the way to the snow.

I'm betting that the local
Wal Mart stores will have t-shirt and sweatshirts for sale soon saying, "I survived the Blizzard of 2007." I remember the 1983 Blizzard that hit Minneapolis. Similar t-shirts were being sold at target stores within a couple of days.
