It was a great funeral

Carlisle Henderson's funeral was today in Union. For those of you that don't know Carlisle, he was the voice of the gospel show on WBCU for more than 30 years. He also hosted the Trading Post and was morning show host for awhile.

The funeral was really interesting. They asked a long time friend of Carlisle's to tell some stories about the 'Coffee Sipper' and then they played bits from interviews he had done over the years. Carlisle's show was a must stop for any politician in South Carolina that wanted the Union vote. Carlisle had interviewed the likes of Strom Thurmond, Fritz Hollings, Jim Hodges, Jim Demint, Lindsey Graham and many others of the years. He was once honored with the Palmetto Citizen of the Year award. That's a big honor.

I just hope people will feel as blessed to have known me when I die as I felt to have known Carlisle.
