This picture below was taken this evening. The kids played out in the yard while my wife and I took care of mowing the lawn for the first time and cleaning out the parking garage. I only make this post because my family back in Minnesota is dealing with a snow storm that dumped 8 inches of snow during the day today.
Parker was wearing his helmet because he was riding his bike shortly before Kallsen offered to pull him through the yard in the wagon. As you can see it was warm enough for the boys to be wearing short sleeves.

New Shoes

I bought new shoes this weekend. I have been wearing the same shoes for playing outside with the kids and playing disc golf since before we moved to Iowa. Saturday I bought two new pair of shoes.

The first pair are brown and the second are black. Very comfortable shoes. They cost only $8.95 per pair. I bought them at Steve and Barry's.

Astronaut Training

Space Camp included Astronaut Training. This first picture is of Joseph in the Orbitron. I love this picture. Joseph was a real trooper in doing this. There is some video at the bottom of the post of Joseph going round and round,
This next picture is probable one that Joseph wouldn't want me to post. But it really is kind of funny. They made the kids all wear the helmet while waiting to do some vibration training. That's where the astronauts deal with strange vibrations and movement while trying to control the rockets they used to use to go to outer space before the space shuttle.

Space Camp was a really fun time. Not only for Joseph but for me too. Here's a video of Joseph doing some of the Space Camp Training.

More Space Camp Coming

Our modem for our computer at home has died. I do a majority of my posts from home. A new modem should be arriving in the mail either tomorrow or Friday. When I get the new modem I will post more stories and pictures about Joseph's trip to Space Camp.

Space Camp Crafts

Space Camp includes a lot of arts and crafts. One of the crafts we did was making parachutes with tissue paper, string and nuts. In this picture Joseph is trying to keep his parachute together. It ended up falling apart from too much handling. Which happened to a lot of the kids.

I took my parachute and gave it to Joseph so he had one to drop from the second floor of one of the buildings on campus.

My Parachute was not a good design (which I learned after I made it) and did not have one of the recommended designs to really get float. But with Joseph and I working as a team, Joseph was able to get the parachute to float really well...which you can see in the below video from Space Camp.

Some of the other arts and crafts included making rockets. I'll have pictures tomorrow.

Space Camp Fun

The Space Camp trip was just as much fun as one would imagine. There's everything from rocket building to parachute construction to landing a space shuttle to training to be an Astronaut. Joseph had a great time. And I will admit, I had just as much fun...watching him learn and grow.

This first picture is what is on the doors as you first walk into Space Camp.

When we were getting ready for the fun to begin, Joseph was trying his best not to smile as Dad took pictures.
Joseph was part of a group of four, the other three boys all friends from school, for the three days at Space Camp.

More pictures (and possible some video) will be coming later today and all during this next week.

Joseph's trip to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama is complete and I believe he had a wonderful time. And I must say I enjoyed the trip as well. There will be lots of pictures and stories to tell over the next couple of days. So keep checking in and we'll share stories and pictures.

Parker St. Pat.

Parker & Kallsen had a St. Patrick's Day party at school on Monday. Parker had his face painted, This is the best picture I was able to get. I wasn't able to get a picture of Kallsen.

The Boys

It's been a long time since I've posted pictures of the boys. Here is a picture of Parker and Kallsen and then the boys together with a friend. Joseph wasn't letting us take his picture. I promise I will have pictures of Joseph by next weekend.

The above picture was taken a couple of days ago after Parker got done brushing his teeth. He is a very happy boy.

Here's Kallsen finding an Easter Egg during the hunt at Frank and Bobbie's church. It was pouring rain so the hunt was moved indoors.

This last picture is of the boys and their friend Nick looking at the loot from the hunt.

Name Change

It happened this morning. My name has changed. My son Kallsen started calling me Dad instead of Daddy.

Super Kallsen

Kallsen has tied a bandana around his neck and is now running around the house proclaiming himself to be Super Kallsen!

Very cute. Parker doesn't seem to have an interest in being Super Parker. But Joseph has decided he wants to be Super Joseph.

Very funny.
