No Curls Parker

The time had come from Parker to get his first hair cut. Always an emotional time for parents (at least for this parent.) I love the curls Parker had. One thing, his hair actually looks thicker now that he has had his hair cut. This first picture is right before the hair cut from the front...

This next picture is from the back...

Now a front view as the hair cut was just finishing up...

And a back view following the completion of his hair cut...

Kallsen Speak No Evil

Kallsen is talking more and more. You may not believe that with this particular picture.

The other day when Kallsen was telling me about school he explained that he had hot dogs for lunch and they were now in his body (he tells me this as he lifts his shirt to reveal his belly) and then he points to his diaper and says the hot dogs will soon be in his diaper.

For being two-years old I'm impressed he already knows how these things work.

Dryer Cat

Pumpkin Head found a comfortable place to rest recently. Right in the just dried laundry. I'm just glad they weren't my clothes because I hate having to remove cat fur in the morning.

Making up for lost time

I realize that I haven't posted in a while. Sometimes life just comes at you fast and you do your best to keep up. In the next few days I'll be posting several things. Here's some of the things to look forward too...

  • Joe Wade's trip to Sara's classroom
  • My kids enjoying the spring weather
  • Words of wisdom...from a two year-old
  • New On-line business about to be launched

So please keep checking back for more updates from the Wright family.

Joseph

Joseph was studying on the couch when Kallsen decided to take his picture. I think Joseph looks good here and that Kallsen took a pretty good picture for a 2 and a half year-old.

Parker in a Box

Parker decided yesterday afternoon that sitting in a block box was the place for him. I bet he sat in that box for a good half an hour before he decided to go do something else.

Oh, they're different...

Kallsen and Parker. This morning I fixed Parker a cup of milk instead of a bottle. And he cried and cried. He wanted a bottle not a cup. It took 15 minutes or more until he would even hold the cup. He's almost 18 months old.

Kallsen went from bottle to cup at 6 months old. Parker's almost a year older than Kallsen was and he still fights drinking out of a cup.

They're just made differently.

We Survived the Blizzard of '07

Here are some pictures of the blizzard of 2007. The entire state of Iowa was declared a disaster area by the Iowa Governor. From the start of the Blizzard until 5:00 last night, Estherville had 16 and a half inches of snow. And we got more last night. In this first picture, you can see the amount of snow is all ready pretty heavy...and you may also noticed that you can't see the road. This picture was taken Thursday evening.

This next picture was taken later of Thursday. As you can see, the drift on the left side of the photo is between our garage and the side entrance to our front deck. The drift is easily four to five feet high.
This next picture was taken Friday morning from the street in front of our house. Notice that if we wanted to get out through the front door that was not going to happen. The main drift on the deck in front of the big window is at least six feet tall. Also you may notice that the icicles in front of the front door reach all the way to the snow.

I'm betting that the local Wal Mart stores will have t-shirt and sweatshirts for sale soon saying, "I survived the Blizzard of 2007." I remember the 1983 Blizzard that hit Minneapolis. Similar t-shirts were being sold at target stores within a couple of days.

Come Here You Big Lug!

A couple of years ago we all had a good time with calling all the men in my family 'Big Lug' and giving them a hug. Well my friend Matt created an image for me which I call Larry Lug Nut. You can now purchase Larry Lug Nut merchandise.

While I know this is only a draft, it's the only image of Larry Lug Nut that exists. Anyway, if you want your very own Larry Lug Nut shirt or sweat shirt, click here.

A 2nd time too

Got stuck again today. This time heading back to the station after going home for lunch. The station sits off of the main highway on a dirt road. The suburban, yes the suburban, got stuck driving through the piled up snow at the intersection. They've plowed the state roads but the county had not plowed the secondary roads yet and the snow mound was just too deep to drive through. I had no traction.
