First Time For Everything
Tonight as I was leaving the station I got stuck in the snow. In all of my life driving in inclement weather, I've never been stuck in the snow or because of any bad weather. As of today, I can no longer say that.

Parker
I really like this picture of Parker. You can see that his hair is getting long in the back and see his nice smile. Parker is a very sweet boy. He spends his time playing and trying to keep his big brother Kallsen from taking what ever Parker is playing with. He's been sleeping through the night and probably gets the most sleep of anyone in the house. He'll be moving into a toddler bed soon. That will be interesting since Parker views his crib as his 'safe haven' from the world. Sometimes he gets so excited about going to nap or bed at night that he starts kicking and pumping his little arms. Hopefully the move to the toddler bed won't ruin the fun of sleeping for him.
Kallsen Swinging
This will link you to a short video of Kallsen swinging on the high bar at tumbling class. Most of the kids need help from a parent or instructor to both hold on and swing. Not Kallsen.
I'm still not sure how to put video on the blog, so this is the next best thing. The video is short but takes a little time to load. Enjoy.

Snow Fun
With 10 or so inches already fallen and more on the way, we decided to get out in the snow and make a snow house, as Kallsen calls it. As you can see in this first picture, Sara and the two smallest boys supervised the construction...
Once the snow fort was partial up, the boys wanted to begin helping. Help to them meant knocking the walls down that Daddy spent the last half hour building...

Ice Storm Cometh
A major Ice Storm is on its way to Northwest Iowa. The forecast is calling for a quarter inch of ice on the roads tonight and another 10th of an inch tomorrow. Then its suppose to snow up to 10 inches on Sunday.
I remember that several years ago, before my career in radio began, that a major snow storm could only mean one thing...Disc Golf in a fresh snow! Once my friend Matt and I headed over to Bassett Creak Park to play a round of snow disc golf and having a hard time getting out of the parking lot once we were done. Now a big snow fall means getting the kids all bundled up and going out to play.

Tumbling
The boys (Kallsen and Parker) started tumbling classes tonight at the Regional Wellness Center in Estherville. Both really seemed to enjoy it for the most part. Here's Kallsen swinging on the high bar...
In this next picture, Parker comes down the ramp/slide head first. Don't worry...he was just fine.

Belated Super Bowl
Here are a couple of pictures taken Super Bowl Sunday. In this first picture, Kallsen and Parker are actually sitting next to each other and neither one is crying. But, as you can see, Parker has a worried look on his face...
In this next Picture, Joseph is trying his very best to not smile. How do you think he is doing?

Kallsen's Counting
Kallsen can now count to ten on his own. Sara is the receive the credit for teaching him numbers. I know they've been working on numbers, I just didn't know how well he could count!
Last night we read his numbers book and Kallsen counted each of the items on each page on his own. I was so excited I called my parents and had Kallsen count for them over the phone. He's only two and half. Smart, Smart boy.
