Happy Halloween!

My Little M & M's

Parker and Kallsen wore homemade costumes. I think Sara did a great job with their outfits. We visited only three of our neighbors and then headed home. Both boys got two candy bars and a sucker. All in all, a good night.

Joseph went trick or treating with his friends. Joseph didn't dress up for Halloween but he did have a mask.

Locked My Keys in My Car

I locked my keys in my car this afternoon while selling advertising in Emmetsburg. This is the third time this year and the third state as well. I seemed to have a knack for locking my keys in my car or locking myself out of my house. I also have a knack for locking my keys in my car at the worst possible moment. My wife can tell you a story about me locking the Uhaul key inside the Uhaul at 10pm at night in a small Tennessee town and waiting until 2am to get the Uhaul unlocked and back on the road. At least today the local police where able to help and I was back in business within a half an hour.

Our Pumpkin

Last weekend we carved our pumpkin with the boys. Kallsen really enjoyed getting all the sloppy stuff out, Joseph likes drawing the design, Parker enjoyed eating all the sloppy stuff, Sara carved the pumpkin and I took pictures.

A Blast from the Past

Some of my posts over the past year and a half stand out more than others. Read this post for a blast from the past.

Finger Flips and Rollers

Last night was the final night of Estherville's Disc Golf league. I was the only player to show up other than Kallsen. And Kallsen doesn't really compete yet. Over the course of the 10 week league we had a high of five players and other than just me last night a low of two players.

With just me and Kallsen last night I decided to work on finger flips and rollers. So other than putts I threw everyshot using a finger flip or a backhanded roller. I did use a Upside Downer once or twice. While not the best round I've shot at the course (I hold the course record at 22 for nine holes) I did manage a 27 with two birdies and two bogies.

Kallsen Likes to Paint

Love Hurts

The mark on Parker's check is a bite mark from a little girl at his school. The operator of the school said the little girl had just kissed him on the other check and then this time she bit down on Parker's check. They said the little girl in question has never bitten anyone before. They said that Parker did one of those 'classic' cries where his mouth opened wide and you heard nothing for a minute or more before he just started wailing.

It seems Parker takes a hit every day. With Kallsen pushing and hitting him most everyday and little girl biting him...he just needs to be left alone. Poor little guy...

Helping Himself

Tonight, while I was preparing dinner, Kallsen pushed a chair up to the counter, grabbed a banana, pealed it with no help, threw the peal away and ate the banana. Yesterday he would have asked for the banana and would've needed help pealing the banana. Not now. He doesn't need my help. And the more disturbing thing is I've never been able to peal a banana all the way without it breaking in two. Kallsen had no problem.

They grow up so fast....

One to three inches

That's the forecast for tomorrow. Snow. One to three inches of snow. This will be the second snow fall of the season and it's still October.

Bite Me

"Bite Me." A saying most of us has heard and one that some of us have used. It is not used in our house. At least it wasn't used until last night. When it was time to put Kallsen and Parker down for the night Kallsen decided he didn't want to go to sleep. When Sara Beth said, "come on Kallsen, lets go to Kallsen's room..." Kallsen responded, "Bite me, Momma."

Needless to say we were a bit shocked. Sara is going to question the learning center the boys go to to see if a helper or one of the after school kids has been saying that. Because this is something that the boys shouldn't be hearing in an early child learning center.

I Got You On My Mind...

Sara and I went out last Saturday night for our 6th Anniversary. I took her to see Triple Espresso at the Music Box Theatre in downtown Minneapolis. Sara laughed so hard at some of the scenes, she cried. This is a very, very funny show.

It originated in Minneapolis and is now seen all over the country. I highly recommend the show.

A special thanks to my parents for watching our three boys so we could have a night out by ourselves.

My Boys...A Friday Night Update...

I realize I haven't been updating the blog as much as I should. And with family living in several different states, I will try and start updating more often. These pictures of the boys were all taken within the past week....

Kallsen with shorter hair. About one week ago we cut two or so inches off the back.

Joseph has joined band this year. He is playing the trumpet.

Parker is almost one

Parker turns one on Thursday. We're going have a focus on Parker party. We did a little celebration Sunday at Severs Corn Maze in Minneapolis. After eating one of his cupcakes, Parker fell asleep. As you can see, he really enjoyed the cupcake before falling asleep.

Course Record is Mine

Last night Kallsen and I went to the disc golf course and play two rounds of nine. The first round I shot par with three birdies and three bogies. The second round I was able to birdie five holes with no bogies. Final score...22. I beat the course record by 2.

We celebrated Parker's first birthday today with a trip to the pumpkin patch. Here are a few photos...
