Old Music....like from the 80's & 90's...

Words from Joseph the other day when he was explaining the music his music teached played during class. He then said she was old. I ask how old she was and he said...older than Mom...she's 28!

A learned something today...

I learned how to write a more engaging style. I learned from Irish Joe.

I visited Irish Joe's blog today for the first time in a week or so and read one of the best written stories or posts I've ready in a long time. I only wish I could write in such a way.

Parker has the chicken pox

Well it's official, Parker has the chicken pox. The doctor confirmed it this morning. So Parker, Kallsen and I will be spending the rest of the week at home resting. The doctor also said that even though Kallsen had the vaccine for chicken pox, he could still break out and become infected. Lovely thought! For now Parker is fine. He hasn't been scratching: he is a little cranky and doesn't feel the best, but when he does feel great he feels really GREAT. We still have a slight fever and his eyes are red. He also is sleeping a lot. I am at home during the day, but I will be going to the school at night to get things ready for the next few days. Progress Reports go home on Friday so I need to get some things done and out by Friday. We will post pictures later of the breakout.

PS-I dressed Kallsen very warm. He asked for the extra hat and so being a GREAT mom I gave him an extra hat. Daddy is just jealous because Kallsen likes to dress warm and wear hats and Daddy doesn't have a hat for the winter.

First Piggy Bank

Needless to say, he was pretty excited! While he was playing with his Piggy Bank, we were clearing out summer cloths for winter cloths (see previous post) for the boys. While going through cloths we found Joseph's old Cullpepper jersey. Kallsen wanted to put it on. Maybe he'll grow up to be a Vikings fan.

When the South Moves North

While it was windy today and cooler that it has been it was only 54 degrees when Kallsen wanted to play outside today. He wanted to ride his trike. So his Mom dressed him. Just imagine how he may be dressed when winter comes.

RIBS! anyone?

As we have posted earlier this summer, there is no really good place to get RIBS! in Northwest Iowa. Well we bought RIBS! ourselves and found a dry rub recipe and made RIBS! last night. They were better than what we've found in the area but not as good as what we're used to. We'll adjust the recipe and try again in a couple of weeks.

Pee Pee in the Potty

This morning Kallsen used the potty for the first time. Well not the first time but the first time where he made a decision that he had to go to the potty and he asked for Daddy to undo his diaper so he could sit on the potty. When he got up, the potty was full!

He was so excited! I can already imagine the savings!

Parker's Weekend

Parker had a tough weekend. It started out Friday night when he fell in the bathtub and hit his check on the side of the tub. On Sunday morning he fell and hit his other check and then when I was putting him in his high chair I pinched his leg while securing the buckle. The poor boy looks as if he's been in the ring...
I felt so bad for Parker. It's never good to see you children in pain.
