Loading Has Begun

We started loading the truck today. Kallsen really was a big help...
Of course, the more he worked, the more he wanted to rest...

We were able to load the couches, a chest and curio cabinet. Along with lots of boxes of everything else. Still left to go...another chest, a dresser, buffet, server, all the kids rooms and a computer stuff. I hope it all fits...

Welcome Worn Out

Both Sara Beth and I have noticed that where we go these past couple of days people keep on saying, "you're still here?" I guess we should have left a bit sooner.

Home from the Hospital

Kyleigh is home from the hospital. She arrived home last night. The adjoining picture was taken sometime after her surgery but before she was released from the hospital.

Last Weekend in the Mountains

With this being our last weekend in the North Georgia Mountains before moving to the flat lands of Iowa, we decided to do something this morning that we haven't done before or since we moved here. And that was have breakfast at The Dillard House. Because it is a holiday weekend and we wanted to be able to attend church this morning, we got up early for a (7:00 AM) Sunday and got the kids ready and headed off to the Dillard House. The Dillard House serves family style and within minutes of sitting down they're bringing you eggs, grits, ham, bacon, sausages, gravy, biscuits, toast, muffins, potatoes, fruit, juice, and it doesn't stop there. Needless to say, we couldn't eat all of it.

After eating breakfast, we thought we should maybe walk some of it off so we took the boys to the park...

Both boys enjoyed swinging and Kallsen played in the tunnels and went down the slide several times. It was a good morning in the mountains.

PS-Joseph is with Joyce this weekend, that's why he does not appear in any of the pictures.

11-3

Joseph's team can no place no better than 2nd place in his age brackat. His team lost 6-1 on Thursday. The team that beat them has a 3-1 advantage over Joseph's team and has only two loses on the year.

Joseph's last game will now be on Tuesday the 31st. The day before we leave. Joseph's team played very well all year. They only lost to one team, it just so happened they lost to that team three out of four game.

Kyleigh May Go Home Today

If her EKG comes back normal, Kyleigh will get to go home today.

Everybody doing better

Kyleigh is moving to her own room tomorrow...out of the ICU. The breathing tube has been removed, the drainage tube has been removed. The only thing left is the IV. She is drinking pedialyte and she be back on baby food tomorrow. Everything continues to go well, she'll be able to go home on Monday.

Parker is much better. The hives that were covering his body have all but left. And, as always, he is in great spirits.

I had to go to the doctor today and found out I had strep. A shot in the hip and I should be ready to roll in 24 hours.

Parker May Have Had An Allergic Reaction

Or maybe not. The doctor wasn't too sure. What he did say is this..."because he doesn't have any other symptoms (fever, soar throat) and his spirits are good, it is either a viral infection or an allergic reaction to something.

The doctor said if Parker starts running a fever or the hives breakout about his mouth, then we would ned to be more concerned. Parker was giving a prescribtion for Zyrtec.

Out of Surgery

Kyleigh came out of surgery around 10:30 this morning and the early reports are that she is doing fine.

AJ

Parker at Home Today

Parker is home with his Daddy today. We have an appointment at 9:45 to see his doctor. Parker broke out in a rash yesterday. You can see in the picture the red patches around his arm pit. Those red patches cover most of his back, his hind end and his stomach. Yesterday, there was a big red patch on the back of his head. That was gone this morning.

What ever it is, it hasn't affected his demeanor at all. He has been very alert and very active.

Surgery is underway

Kyleigh is now undergoing surgery in Charleston, South Carolina. She went into surgery at 7:00 this moring.

What time is it?

I discovered a new site and a new way to advertise Find News Fast. If you haven't noticed yet, I added a clock to my site recently. The company that makes these clocks makes them for blogs, websites and makes them for advertising.

For a one time cost of $100, you can have a clock made with your logo and then distribute that to clients and friends and ask them to put your clock on their site. When they click on your clock, it takes them to your site.

The clocks can be designed to show the time from any time zone in the world, so they become very versatile. When I get my Find News Fast clock, I'll be asking everyone to display that clock on their blog and/or website.

Thursday is the day...

Kyleigh goes in for her surgery. Kyleigh is my niece. Sara's sister's baby. Kyleigh is 14 months old and has a hole in her heart which continues to increase in size. She was to have surgery a few weeks ago but that had to be postponed because the hole had increased more than the doctors had expected since her last visit.

As you can imagine, this is a very trying time for Kyleigh and her family. And while I have requested your prayers in the past, I make an even bigger request this week to include her in your prayers.

As soon as we are updated here, I'll let you know how things are going for Kyleigh.

11-2

Joseph's team had a big win tonight 16-4. Joseph had an RBI on a sacrafice, walked and scored a run. He fielded one ball and relayed well into the second baseman, who missed the tag...which is too bad because Joseph got the ball in there good.

Tonight's picture is of Joseph watching the game from the dugout.

During the game tonight, we learned that Kallsen, who's not even 22 months old yet, can climb chainlink fences...

Parker enjoy the game from the lap of one of grandmas at the game...

This is Kallsen, watching Joseph play...

Making Money Online

I've made $10 off of someone going through a banner ad on my website, Find News Fast! I have used the company, 1and1.com, to purchase most of my domain names and to host my websites through. They have a program where if someone clicks on their banner ad on one of my wedsites or blogs and buys something, I can earn a commission based on what that person purchased.

So I encourage any of you and all of you to go through 1and1.com to host a web site and before purchasing that space go to Find News Fast and click on the 1and1 banner ad.

Also remember to check out all my google advertising on my blog and feel free to go to each one of my parking pages and click on those links, too. My parking pages include The Political Right .com; .net and .org along with The Right Nation.

I have several other parking pages, and I hope to develope those sites as well.

Toothy Grin

Parker has six teeth...all coming in right now. As you can imagine, he hasn't been the happiest baby. But he certainly looks good here!

Joseph No Hair

Joseph wanted to decide how he got his hair cut. So he did...

Joseph decided to go with a #2 razor on his entire head. Normally when we get his hair cut we go with a number two on the sides and back and a number three on the top. As you can see, there is a big difference between a number two and a number three.

Cheap Gas

We saw this sign in Seneca this afternoon. When using the Ingles Gift Card, they should be paying you .01 cent per gallon when you fill up. Not a bad deal.

The real story of cheap gas in Georgia is this...in Clayton the best price on gas is about $2.70 per gallon. Twenty miles south of Clayton or 20 miles east of Clayton and gas is $2.47 a gallon. Apparently being in the mountains of North Georgia means you should pay .20 cents or more per gallon.

10-2

Joseph's baseball team improved to 10-2 with the 12-1 win today. Joseph had a good game with a nice fielding play in the first inning where he stopped a line drive into the corner with a nice back hand and relayed the ball into the infield to hold the hitter to a single.

Joseph went to the plate twice, getting hit by a pitch the first time (see the ball in the photo?) and walking the second time. He stole a base and scored two runs.

Joseph's team has four games left, only three in which he'll be able to play. A game cancelled earlier this season has been reschedule for June 3rd. With us moving on May 31st, Joseph will miss his team's final game.

PS-the ball is right below his hands behind where the fence crosses.

He Is All Boy...

Kallsen is all boy. No doubt about it. He is all boy.

This past weekend while at Bobbie and Frank's house, Kallsen ran down to the dog kennels several times and growled at the dogs through the fence. He later found the key to the lawn tractor and decided to try and take it for a spin.

As you can see in this picture, he is trying to put the key in the ignition. Papa Frank gave Kallsen a ride on the mower. One of the traditions is for Papa Frank to give the grandchildren rides on the tractor.

Another example is today he was running and he fell and skinned up both his knees. He didn't cry. He didn't fuss. He just wanted to get back up and run and play some more. There's no stopping him. He's all boy.

This next picture is just one that I really like. Kallsen is in Bobbie and Frank's backyard just standing looking at the scenery. He is all boy.

No More SKY 104

Today was my last day with this company. After nine and a half years I have called it quits. It was time for me and my family to move on.

I'm not sure what I was expecting but other than a few kind words from my replacement, I had no other farewells. I did receive a gift, however, of my infamous cowbell.

The cowbell goes back to when I first came to work in Clayton. The morale of the staff was horrible. People keeping their doors to their offices shut all the time, arguments and just plain piss poor attitudes. Well it didn't take me long to figure out working in a place with low morale was something that I was not going to be able to do so I decided to do something about it.

I purchased the cowbell from a local feed and seed store. I brought the bell into the station and began ringing it up and down the hallway. It didn't take long for the staff to come out of their offices to see what all the racket was about. I told the staff that it was the 'good news' bell and when something good happened, they had to ring the bell. I explained that the bell was to be rung when our news person broke a big story, the morning man had a great show or received a comliment from a listener or a member of the sales staff made a sale.

I believe for the first two or three months no one rang the bell but me. But everytime I rang the bell everyone came to see what the good news was. Eventually everyone would ring the bell from time to time. And everytime someone rang the bell, everyone came out of their offices. So that's the story of my cowbell.

The staff took the bell and had it painted as my going away gift. Now this is something that will stay with me forever and is probable one of the nicer things the staff could have done.

Open Heart Surgery Scheduled...

for my niece Kyleigh Grace Balwin. Kyleigh is 13 months old. She has a hole in her heart. Kyleigh and my Mother and Father inlaw with travel to Charleston with Kyleigh's mother on May 23rd. Kyleigh will be prepped for surgery on the 24th and undergo the procedure on the 25th.

Plane Crash

Two members of my church were liked in a plane crash yesterday. John Martin and Warren Palmer were flying from North Georgia to Florida when they got caught in a thunderstorm and crashed. The plane and their bodies were found this evening.

Warren Palmer's two boys, Jackson and Evens, went to the same daycare Kallsen attended before the day care closed. Warren and I had many conversations in the driveway and in the house where the day care was located. In fact we sat with Warren and his wife Gwen and their kids at a church supper two weeks ago this Sunday. I think the boys are 18 months and three years old.

John Martin's kids, Ashley and Ryan, are adults. I don't know much about John Martin other than he was a successful business man and really loved Rabun County and was a great family man.

Please put these two members of our church and their families in your prayers.

Remote Set Up

This picture was taken two weeks ago at a live broadcast we did at Stephens Federal Bank for their grand opening of their new location in Rabun County. The picture was taken from the road. The man standing next to the tent is our news director David Shideler.

It was at this remote that the picture on the recent post concerning a PartyWright replacement was taken.
